Polyetherimide (PEI) is an amorphous thermoplastic in transparent tinted brown colour,This material have high heat deflection temperature (200°C) and high tensile strength and its mechanical properties can retain well at high temperatures, the material itself is inherently flame resistant and good resistance to UV radiation and gamma radiation.
The material can resists to a wide range of chemicals; such as alcohols, gasoline and mineral-acid, but have poor resistant to halogenated solvents, such as Industrial cleaning solvent that contain Methylene chloride or Tri-chloroethane, as these solvents can cause the material become brittle and followed by cracking.
