Polyoxymethylene (POM) is a semi-crystalline thermoplastics made from formaldehyde polymerized by anionic catalysis. It has high rigidity, good toughness, low friction, good creep resistance and good thermal stability.
POM available in homo-polymer and co-polymer, the homo-polymer POM have higher service temperature of 100°C and 80°C for POM Copolymer.
POM is resistant to solvents, petroleum products, oil and grease, but It is not resistant to strong acids, oxidants and UV radiation, be caution that POM may produce toxic formaldehyde gas; when it's heated or during mechanical wear, this may cause potential skin irritation and a slight odor of formaldehyde smell.
